Halloween- a time for dressing up in fun and scary costumes and eating way too much candy than is good for us. Unfortunately, Halloween is also the time of year for pranks and vandalism.
Here are a few tips to protect your business from falling victim to pranks, so that you won't have to call SERVPRO of Ft. Lauderdale North for Halloween vandalism cleanup on November 1st,.
1) Lock it down
Make sure all doors, windows, and gates are locked up tightly when you leave for the night. Double check the day of that your alarm system is working and remember to set it before you leave.
2) Light it up
If your business is open late, keep the parking area well-lit so employee and customer cars are less of a target for egging or keying.
After hours, keep the outsides of the building well lit, including parking lots and dumpster areas. Also, be sure your outdoor security cameras are running.
3) Security
If you have a high-risk business, or have been targeted in the past, consider hiring overnight security, or beefing up existing security.
4) Halloween vandalism cleanup
Don't wait! Clean up vandalism as soon as you find it, and call professionals for help with difficult cleanup. Cleaning up quickly will deter vandals targeting your business in the future- they'll know you're not messing around.
5) Double check
Go over this list night-of to be sure you are protecting your business as much as possible this prank season. Halloween doesn't have to be a nightmare for you or your business. And should vandals strike, SERVPRO of Ft. Lauderdale North will make it "Like it never even happened."
